It would be nice to have a desktop (PC or Mac or Other) version of this application.
What would be even "cooler" is if you could then "sync" the desktop versions with the touch/iTouch.
Therefore, any bookmarks, notes, etc that you created on the desktop, when synced would show up on the touch/iTouch. Of course, the other way around would work too.
I started with the competing
I started with the competing app in the app store (you know, the other $15 one) and used it for nearly 2 years. The one feature that kept me there for so long was the desktop application they offered and the amount of time it saved me inputting all my personal notes. I finally decided to make the switch to this app because of the ability for personal cross-references, all the customizability options available with highlighting, and the tabbing. I've found the switch worth it, definitely. But I say the one deficit this app has to its competition is the desktop application. I'd definitely pay $9.95 ;) for such an application!

If there was a Desktop
If there was a Desktop application that would sync with the iphone your notes, bookmarks etc. I would use it for all kinds of reading!
This would be a killer app on the new iPads that Apple will be launching soon.
I am a Kindle owner and would gladly dump it if I could have a more robust note taking app with Desktop sync.
A Desktop Version with "sync"
A Desktop Version with "sync" would be great! I have spent more than $1000 buying and upgrading the LDS Library and I would gladly pay $100 for a Desktop Version of the Standard Works. It would also be nice to have all the books that the LDS Library has at some point in time since the Standard Works is much faster even on the iPod.
Amen to that! tevans
Amen to that!
tevans mentioned on 12/1/08-
"As for the desktop component piece, while it would be useful, we currently don't have any plans on implementing a separate Mac/Windows application - that may change however as the software matures."
.... Has it matured yet???
A desktop version to sync with this app would be nothing short of amazing! Think how useful that could be. You have your gospel brain with you on the go, you can sync, and prepare talks/lessons much easier on desktop, not to mention losing your iphone means all those hours of cross referencing/bookmarking/personal insight are all gone. Maybe I stand corrected, but I don't think the editing on the app is backed up???.... Correction you can back it up!
Maybe something in Java (I
Maybe something in Java (I work in it all day) which is supported (to varying degrees) on both Mac/Windows. Now that there is a backup/restore and custom content features, a number of hurdles have been overcome. If you made it open source, I am sure a number of developers (myself for one) would love to work on it; of course, that would mean opening up API and data structures.
I would also gladly pay $100
I would also gladly pay $100 bucks for a desktop version! I've tried many of the other gospel related software and it just doesn't do it for me.... its either too complicated or the user interface is painstaking to work with. The app in conjunction with a desktop version would be the ultimate personal gospel reference journal.
Ahem ... start small ... say
Ahem ... start small ... say you are willing to pay $10 ... then maybe the developer will charge $20 for it. Now that the developer knows there is someone willing to pay $100 for it ... now the starting price might be $100 or more ... you could have saved yourself $80 ;)
For me ... I would only pay $5 ;)
The one thing that keeps me
The one thing that keeps me from buying the Scriptures App is having a separate database for that app that won't have all my highlighting, notes, tags, etc. But if there were a syncable desktop version that would keep my iPad and iPhone apps identical, I'd spring for both.

Again, Terry, you're the man.
Again, Terry, you're the man. I'm loving the iPad. Adding the Scriptures app to it will be a welcome addition.
The April I mentioned is for
