The new Android version 1.0 makes a great start! I purchased it for my droid and I had to rate it five stars. It does not as yet have all the features of the iPhone version but it is a great start and far better than the other LDS Scriptures App. I was able to transfer all my settings and my library options over from my iPod and the Scriptures are now with me all week on my Droid phone and not just on my iPod at church and at home.
A couple of problems, I could not find how to sort the hymns by name or see any notes. And the search seems to have a few major problems. Running the Droid next to the iPod the Droid is faster to boot and in getting to a scripture or just moving around from place to place but when doing a search the iPod is easily 1,000 times faster and even after taking 10 seconds to search the NT only for the phrase "life eternal" it found none, where as the iPod found four before I could get my finger off the last letter. The Droid does not remember your last search words or search while you are typing, nor does it search again when you change from phrase to any or all words until you hit the search icon. I hope the search algorithm is a work around until you have time to put the iPod code into the Android version!
Even with the few problems I want to thank the Standard Works team for the new Android version. I now have the Scriptures with me all the time.
Keep up the good work.
p.s. Thanks for the rows of five in the grid numbers, my brain counts by 5 much faster than by 6, and that makes for a much faster search.

I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out overall, although there are some definite things that can be improved with it still.
We're currently working on figuring out why it works great on some devices, but has issues on other devices. For example, Droid Incredible users seem to be having the most issues so far.
As for the search, the iPhone/iPad apps use a proprietary search engine that is extremely optimized for the iPhone - that's why there isn't another app that's even close to it in search speed yet. We'd like to get something comparable on the Android devices, but it won't be easy to do.
Thanks for the new android
Thanks for the new android version 1.1. But the new release for the android still has a seach problem. Some things you search for are not found even though they exist. I tried to get my son to buy your app for his droid and when he searched for the phrase "flesh and bones" looking for Luke 24:39, it found nothing. Sad to say my sale fell through, he said that he would stay with the Church version.
It is the speed and filter
It is the speed and filter options of your search engine that makes your LDS Scriptures far superior to the other Scriptures App. So I sure hope that you can regain the edge you have on the iPhone for the Android devices. In the mean time it would be nice if the search just worked, in that it does not find verses that are in the Scriptures. Slow is one thing but not finding anything that is really there is another. A second thing that makes your app much better than the other Scripture App is the multilayer folders in the bookmarks. But I miss the ability to rearrange items in the edit mode on the Droid.
Another problem I found on the Droid is when I edit or add a note the keyboard covers up the icons, so you must be fast if you want to select an icon before the keyboard covers it up. Also edited notes do not show up until you close and reopen the app.
I've made a note of the
I've made a note of the additional issues you've found. Thank you for mentioning them.
As for the note icons, if you press the Back button the keyboard will go away so you can pick the colors and icons.
Thanks for the new Android
Thanks for the new Android version 1.2, the search works now and I look forward to a search speed like on the iPhone app.

Hey if we bought the iphone/ipod app and now went to an Android phone, do we need to buy it all over again or is there any way I can get a transfer?
Thanks!
