Returning to LDS Scriptures app returns to Home screen

I have a 2G iPod Touch (8GB) with iOS4 and LDS Scriptures 3.3.
1. Start with the app open somewhere in the scriptures.
2. Press the Home button to go to the iOS home screen
3. Tap the scriptures icon to return to the scriptures app.
4. The LDS Scriptures app returns to its home screen rather than where I was previously, and the Home menu bar at the bottom is gone.
It does reappear if I select a book on the home screen. This happens whether I am in grid view or not. I suspect this has to do with the new iOS 4 multitasking feature which is NOT enabled on a 2G iPod Touch.

I was expecting to return to where the app was (the scripture verse) when I exited the app.

This is extremely annoying especially since I cannot immediately go to Bookmarks or History to return where I was. Smart Tabs are too darn smart and dutifully display "Home". It annoys me to no end because, I apparently exit/enter the app frequently while reading (no I am not on any social website; I'm too anti-social).

Please fix like yesterday.

ok, I think I finally tracked down the source of the missing toolbar issue and fixed it. The fix will be in the next update.

Bless you. Now bless the update, Apple!

Thanks so much for the fixes.

Thanks so much for the fixes. I'm happy now. It's amazing how a little things can drive you crazy.

Still not working with

Still not working with version 3.3.1. I know it wasn't advertised as a fix, but I was hoping. This is a frustrating bug that has me checking everyday for updates. Saw a review on iTunes that the frustrated guy gave 2 weeks to fix before abandoning ship and going to another product. I thought it a little unfair since the dev is pretty much at the mercy of Apple's approval process. Then again, this bug has been known to me for a long time. I would rather get this fixed instead of new content being added. Everyday I open up my app 3 or more times and grumble to myself to hold on until the next update.

Any time table on when this might get fixed?!?!

We submitted 3.32 earlier

We submitted 3.32 earlier today to Apple. We tested it on three different devices in both grid and list modes, so it should fix the tab issues. It should also fix the bottom toolbar disappearing on startup at times.

Thanks for the fixes, Terry.

Thanks for the fixes, Terry. It works once again and I'm a happy camper.

Ditto here. I was hanging on

Ditto here. I was hanging on and real excited when 3.31 said it fixed the problem. But, then it didn't fix the problem. I love the app and will hang on for a little while longer.

I might join jump the sinking

I might join jump the sinking ship also! Go for the LDS Approved/sanctioned app as the tabs still don't work! And that was the advertised fix for 3.3.1!! If you use grid layout true tabs is a total hassle still but on my wife's she doesn't use grid and her tabs work.

kchase, Multitasking does not

kchase,

Multitasking does not work on a 2G Touch. Your problem is with a false expectation of iOS4 on your Touch and not with LDS Scriptures. So what you are seeing is that you are actually closing LDS Scriptures and starting it again. Your only hope of using multitasking is upgrading your Touch. Bummer. (Or Jailbreaking it if you are not feint of heart.)

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I do realize the 2G Touch doesn't have multitasking. Don't really need it that much anyways. The LDS Scriptures app was always good before the latest release to always return me where I was last (scriptures, verse, etc.) Now it always returns me to the home screen of the app and the bar of buttons at the bottom is missing. I need to tap on a book to get the bar back so that I can tap on bookmarks to navigate to where I was last. FRUSTRATING.

My mention of multitasking was due to my recent upgrade to iOS 4 and thought there may be some interaction; such as the Scripture App relying on this feature to save the app state for the return. Since my device does not have this feature, that might be the reason for the bug. Just trying to be helpful. I am a software developer by profession but not an iPhone developer so it was just a shot in the dark.

Whatever the source of the difficulty. I am sure it will be addressed soon. I notice a number of iTunes reviews stating similar issues. These are not the types of reviews you want potential customers to see.

Yes, I think that iOS 4

Yes, I think that iOS 4 definitely has something to do with this problem. I should say that iOS 4 and LSA's interaction with it. He probably needs to tweak this as well.

Also, it's "nice" to hear that someone else has the same problem of having the Home bar disappear and that it is not just me. I do a dance of selecting different tabs to get my Home bar back.

I think we just need to wait and he'll fix it soon.

I have an iPhone 3G S with iOS4 and my app now operates exactly how chase describes. The previous version of the app maintained my place in the app. I could read, close, open the next day and the app would open in exactly the place I had left it. This disappeared with the new version of the app. I'd really -- REALLY -- like it back.
