Any update on sync between the iPhone and iPad apps?
I use them both a lot and would love the highlights, bookmarks, notes etc. to be "one".
Thanks!

Still one of my favorite apps on either platform and I own a bunch.

Two of us bring and use them

Two of us bring and use them in my family ward; five in my son's family ward; two that I know of in another family ward which meets in my building. Both of us in my ward use cases that conceal, for the most part, the "bling" factor. "Ostentatious?" "Pretentious?" Not if you are using the iPad the same way you would use your paper scriptures and not if your mind is focused on feeling the spirit of the meetings and classes, as opposed to showing off. It all depends on where your heart is . . . that is what people see.

I'm at the age where using the iPhone is just too hard on the eyes. So using the iPad is wonderful and the application makes preparing for and participating in class so much easier than it would be otherwise.

Great app. Appreciate the hard work. No qualms at all about paying the full freight a 2nd time. Thanks.

Just wondering what the

Just wondering what the reasoning is behind making the app a separate app from the iphone version? I understand developers need to make money as it is a separate product but the content is all the same so I don't see the ipad version adding a huge amount more of file size to the iphone version as to make it a universal version.

Maybe just give us the in app purchase option to get it at like half price or so, that way you guys still make money on each product but if you support both version you don't have to pay $30. to be honest I think that would actually create more revenue on your part as I am almost all ways turned off by apps that make you pay full price for a slightly different "HD" version. Oh that sounds like I am saying yours is slightly different, actually I am not just referring to some other apps I have that the devs created an iPad version for that is only higher res and no other changes but still charge full price for them.

Anyway give it a thought and let me know, I am still on the fence about buying an iPad (waiting for 3G, maybe) so I am not crazy mad or anything just wondering.
Thanks for all your hard work and the great, up to date product you offer!!

It's quite simple really.

It's quite simple really. There was a lot of work that went into making the iPad version. While it may look similar to the iPhone/iPod touch version, around 80% of the user interface had to be rewritten for the iPad. The tabs were completely rewritten to support the iPad with their independent browsing histories and being able to navigate to/from My Library and the scriptures while still being able to use the history for each tab. In addition, there will be a lot more iPad only features that will be added to the iPad version. Without getting into too many technical details, it's also a lot cleaner to have the codebases for the two apps separated so we don't have to worry about accidentally breaking the iPhone version while releasing an iPad update. To support a universal binary you have to make runtime checks all over in the code to see if certain features exist before trying to use them. If you do it wrong, the app crashes.

Remember, that if someone doesn't think the iPad version is worth the price, they can continue to use the iPhone/iPod touch version on the iPad - they just won't get all of the iPad features.

Scratch my last post... I just downloaded the new update..... AMAZING.... that's all I can say.... I'm sure there will be minor bugs and tweaks to make but this is unbelievable. Well done.

Our list of issues to fix has already been started. Starting with the app crashing if you select the Youth Materials PDF section. That will be fixed quickly.

I've had a few weeks to play

I've had a few weeks to play around and in all reality I like the format but am dying to have my notes/annotations added from my iPhone to iPad! I'm not fully invested yet into the app because I know I'll be restoring from backup soon. My main suggestion is to make the iPad app as closely resemble the iphone app, especially with creating tab names/creating new home etc. I also would like to see full screen text in horizontal mode especially with documents in "my library". Auto scrolling could use some work as well. I noticed there is a back button to navigate backwards but it would be nice to hit it to move forward (like in the iPhone) in chapters rather than swiping to the right! It would be nice also to have a tool bar at the bottom (like in the iphone) with similar tools as arranged on the iphone. That's enough for now, I'm sure most my comments will be resolved with the next update
